AMP is where open standards and URLs go to die. There is absolutely no need for AMP. As one of the original seven founders of the W3C Mobile Web Initiative, I can say with confidence that there were better alternatives to AMP — it’s very easy for any developer to provide alternative content based on the device type or screen size.

AMP is one of my least favorite projects on the Web.
